Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 – The CMEX5 is an instant, high-precision, digital, non-destructive moisture meter for quantitative measurement of moisture % in concrete floors and slabs using a gravimetric test as a reference.
The CMEX5 also provides readings equivalent to the carbide method for concrete and other cementitious substrates, as well as comparative readings for gypsum and in accordance with ASTM F2659.
The CMEX5 has a built-in ambient relative humidity sensor that measures ambient relative humidity, temperature, dew point and ambient humidity (or mixing ratio). It allows connection of optional wood probes or Tramex Hygro-i2 relative humidity probes.
Bluetooth connectivity with the Tramex Meters App allows you to visualize readings and report data to mobile devices, GeoTag test results, create, save and share photos, reports and charts.

The concrete moisture meter has 4 measurement modes:
- Non-destructive testing (NDT) mode: The Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 is a non-destructive digital moisture meter for concrete floors and slabs, providing instant and precise quantitative measurement of moisture content using gravimetric testing as a reference. The CMEX5 also provides Carbide Method equivalent readings for concrete and other cementitious substrates, as well as benchmark readings in accordance with ASTM F2659.
- Hygrometer mode: The built-in ambient relative humidity sensor measures ambient relative humidity, temperature, dew point and ambient humidity (or mixing ratio).
- Equilibrium Relative Humidity mode (optional plug-in probe): Using optional plug-in Hygro-i2 RH probes, the X5 concrete moisture meter will measure equilibrium relative humidity, temperature, dew point and moisture coefficient in structural materials. A structural material such as a concrete slab can be tested using the in-situ method or the RH Hood method (international standards: ASTM F2170 & BS 8201, 8203, 5325). Relative humidity probes can also be used to measure ambient relative humidity in air spaces.
- PIN meter mode (optional plug-in probe): The CMEX5 becomes a resistance-type meter and measures the percent moisture content (%MC) of wood when used with an optional plug-in PIN meter. International wood standards or pre-programmed wood species can be selected. The PIN meter mode can also be used to read drywall and WME (Wood Moisture Equivalent) for other materials.
