    asked QUESTIONS

Pressure injection is a process that requires specialist knowledge and experience. If your project is unusual or you need advice on selecting a specific sealing technology, our technical advisors are here to help. Please get in touch – we’ll help you avoid mistakes on site.

Packers with unscrewable calamiters provide significantly higher injection quality through better control over the flow of injection resin. This is one of the three primary methods of controlling the injection process, and is especially important when sealing leaks and injecting cracks.

    A detachable calamite allows:

    • better control of the flow of injection material and the selection of appropriate injection pressures and injection hole frequencies,
    • Venting the injection space,
    • The pumping of water and gases in a specific direction.

This solution is slightly less convenient during daily work, but significantly increases control over the entire injection process. IZOPRESS STANDARD calamites have preapplied sealing resin on the threads, which makes the calamite screwing process easier and faster.

Machine grouting of brick or stone masonry is the fastest way to renovate large facades. The success of aggregate work depends on meeting three key technical and equipment conditions:

    • Mortar consistency: The mixture must be perfectly plastic and homogeneous.

    • Aggregate grain size: use only specialized machine grout with a fine grain size (usually 1-2 mm).

    • Pump type: Izoservice’s standard inoBEAM M8 peristaltic pump is ideal for this process.

Why does the inoBEAM M8 aggregate guarantee the highest quality?

    • It does not heat the grout: This ensures that the machine does not shorten the natural setting time of the grout.

    • Minimizes wastage (chamber of about 50 ml): small volume ensures that all material is squeezed out efficiently, preventing lumps clogging the feed nozzle.

    • Remote control and precision: Guns with remote control increase operator convenience and allow for precise thin welds as small as 5 mm wide and 1.5 cm deep.

Diaphragm pump – when is it worth it?

The diaphragm pump is most often used in 1K injection, especially during standard sealing and waterproofing work. It is a popular solution for polyurethane resin injection and medium viscosity epoxy resins. A popular membrane pump is the IZOPRESS 400.

    Advantages:
    – simple operation and low equipment requirements (often 230V power supply),
    – good for PU and epoxy resins of medium viscosity,
    – stable operation for typical sealing injections,
    – lower cost of purchasing an injection pump.

    Limitations:
    – heating of the material during prolonged operation which changes the parameters of the resin,
    – lower effectiveness with very dense injection resins,
    – limited control precision with difficult cracks and active leaks.

Pneumatic piston pump – why will it be a better choice?

Pneumatic piston pump is a more advanced solution used where high precision operation and high pressure during pressure injection are crucial. A popular piston pump is the IZOPRESS PRO 1K-33.

    Advantages:
    – no heating of the material during operation, so the resin retains its parameters,
    – better control of the injection process (start/stop, precise dosage),
    – ability to work with higher viscosity resins,
    – effective work in demanding sealing and injection of structural cracks.

    Limitations:
    – higher cost of purchasing equipment,
    – need for a compressor.

Curtain injection is an advanced method of sealing underground parts of structures (such as basements) by injecting material behind the wall. An example is the IZOPRESS 18/115 plastic packer for curtain injection. The use of packers with lateral distribution is crucial for several reasons:

    • Even curtain formation: The packer is equipped with a special tip that directs the injection perpendicular to the wall surface. This ensures that the injection material spreads evenly along the outer plane of the wall, forming a continuous waterproof barrier.
    • Precise pressure control: The side-slide gate injection valve has a large opening, allowing free flow and precise control of the injection material supply.
    • Perfect fit for gels: This design is ideal for the application of flexible acrylic gels that need to fill the space between the ground and the building envelope quickly and without disruption.
    • Comfort and tightness of work: The flat calamite guarantees a perfectly tight and convenient connection of the pump, eliminating the risk of backflow of injectables under pressure.

Injection with acrylic gels using a 1-component (single-component) pump is possible, requires great skill, involves great risk and requires the use of acrylic gels set to a longer setting time.

It should also be remembered that in such a case a pneumatic piston pump such as IZOPRESS PRO 1K-33 is a far better solution. This pump does not heat the material and allows you to maintain the assumed resin setting time by not heating the material.

Acrylic gels are multi-component materials that bind in the time set by the operator.

When using a 1-component pump, you need to keep in mind key principles:

    • Pump out the material from the pump in less time than the set resin setting time.
    • The gel ingredients need to be mixed together before pouring into the pump tank.
    • Crosslinking time control: From the moment the ingredients are mixed, the time for application begins to flow. If the gel setting time is set to 30 minutes, for example, inject all the material before this time expires.

For professional work such as large-scale curtain or structural injections, specialized 2-component (two-component) pumps are standard at IZOSERVICE. They mix the components only directly in the injection head (just before the packer), which guarantees the safety of the equipment.

Both peristaltic and auger (screw) pumps work well for spraying seal coatings. However, their choice strictly depends on the type of material being applied:

    • Peristaltic pump: Allows safe application of all three types of insulation (bituminous, mineral and hybrid). Its main advantage is that it does not generate internal friction, so it does not heat the material and does not change its structure. Such a mechanism does not accelerate the setting time, and the delicate fillers (e.g., polystyrene beads) contained in bituminous compounds are not destroyed. This allows the coating to retain its full insulating properties. In addition, it is extremely easy to clean due to the very small capacity of the working chamber (in the case of inoBEAM M8, it is about 50 ml).
    • Screw pump (Dedicated to mineral and hybrid insulation): Works well for the application of 1- and 2-component mineral slurries and hybrid compounds. Screw pump generates high pressure and high efficiency, which allows even spraying of waterproofing over large areas.

Summary: The inoBEAM M8 pump is a more versatile solution, as it allows the application of bituminous compounds without the risk of heating the material. Screw pumps, on the other hand, are a good and efficient choice if you only work with mineral and hybrid materials.
